2nd STA Junior Tournament

Sunday the 21st of August 2016 saw the 2nd Annual Scottish Taekwon-do Alliances junior Taekwon-do Championships.
This event was held for the second year running at Armadale Academy, West Lothian.
This was the very first competition held by a member of ITFS to run entirely online.

The Kihapp. competition software was used to create a simple and easy registration and payment system not only for the competitors, but also for the coaches and instructors. This system is used in competitions all over the world and helps the event to run on time and as efficiently as possible.

We were delighted to welcome competitors, coaches and officials from all over Great Britain. There were also some new schools and clubs who were competing for the first time at an ITF Scotland members event. They were made very welcome and we hope to see them again in the near future.

The competition attracted a total of 97 competitors competing in a total of 276 categories (patterns, sparring & special technique).
A total of 133 medals were won by our junior competitors, and we are sure everyone went home feeling very proud and satisfied after a great days competition!
We would like to congratulate the United Taekwon-do Federation and their competitors for topping the medals chart with an impressive 8 golds, 15 silvers and 14 bronze medals.
Thank you to all the hard working officials who gave up their Sunday to ensure this competition was a big success.
And finally, congratulations to all the competitors for stepping up and having the confidence to step onto the mats.
Well done and we look forward to seeing you all next year!
Mr. D. Lupton V Degree
For and on behalf of the Scottish Taekwon-do Alliance.
