World Championships Team Selection’s

Dear Masters and Instructors,

ITF Scotland National Team Selection

I invite all competitors to apply for selection to the ITF Scotland National Team attending the World Championships in Jeselo, Italy – 27th to 31st May 2015.

The selection event will be held on Sunday 25th January at GMAC Martial Arts, Craigshill Road, Livingston, EH54 5DT. The selections will commence at 10am.

Please note that on arrival all competitors will be weight checked, and must be within 2kg of their chosen sparring weight.

 

All competitors wishing to go forward for selection must apply to the Team Manager no later than Wednesday 21st January. Applications should be sent to nationalteam@itfscotland.com

Junior competitors must be minimum of 14 years on the first day of competition; all those born in the year 1997 must compete as a Junior. Senior’s should be born in 1996 or earlier, as per the rules of competition in the official invite.

Seminar with Katya Solovey

Dear Masters, Instructors, Blackbelts and Students,

We are delighted Mrs Solovey has agreed to visit us here in Aberdeen, Scotland and we hope that she enjoys here visit very much.  She, along with her assistant Miss Viktoria Sokolovska, will conduct three sessions.

As we have a very large competitive junior contingency, here in Aberdeen , we will conduct a session of all grades up to 13 yrs.  Teens and adults kup grades up to 3rd kup will also have their own session. The final one will be for red and blackbelts.

Mrs Solovey is well known to our students and they are all looking forward to this great opportunity.

This event is open to all students within Scotland and further afield.

Full details about the venue, costs, times etc will be posted in due course.

National Team Pattern Training Dates

National Pattern training will be held on the following 3 dates at the North Inch Community Campus, Gowans Terrace, Perth, PH1 5BF
  • Saturday 15th November 2014
  • Saturday 22nd November 2014
  • Saturday 6th December 2014
Time: 1 – 3pm Cost: £5 per session, payable on the day
This training is open to all Blue Belts and above who wish to concentrate on Patterns for competition.  The aim of these 3 sessions is to establish the numbers of students who wish to compete for Scotland in Individual Pattern & Team Pattern events for next year and beyond.

In the New Year, training (Time & Venue TBC) will become weekly and once again all blue belts and above are encouraged to attend to develop their patterns and to be introduced to Team Pattern training.  In the New Year training will become mandatory for all black belts who wish to become part of a Pattern Team for the World Championships in May.
 .
North Inch Community Campus
All coaches, students & parents are to park in the main campus car park, which is located on the left side of Gowans Terrace immediately before the approach road to the campus.  Parking is not permitted on the private road through the car park that leads to Muirton Cottages. The car park can be busy and we would ask you to encourage car sharing. The only parking permitted out with the main car park is in the disabled parking bays on the road round the side of the campus building, and any cars parking here must display a current disabled badge.

Finally can I ask that all Instructors send a brief email (not Facebook message) toboydell.tkd@sky.com a few days in advance listing who will be attending from your school to allow myself time to increase/decrease the area booked.  All students attending these training dates must inform their instructor that they wish to attend.

2014 ITF Scotland AGM

Saturday 1st November saw ITF Scotland come together for its AGM this year held at the Stirling Management Centre,Stirling.  Ninety one plaque holders turned out to the 2014 meeting, where a summary of the years events was given to the membership, as well as information regarding 2015 events.

As this 2014 was the end of the board’s two year term, the meeting culminated with elections of the new board.

ITF Scotland Technical Training – 23rd November 2014

ITF Scotland LogoITF Scotland’s Technical Training Seminar will be held on Sunday 23rd November from 12 noon to 3pm.

This event is open to 3rd Degree’s and above, and will be taught by the ITF Scotland Technical Committee.

National Team Training Dates – October 2014

ITF Scotland LogoNational Squad Training will resume from Sunday 12th October 2015.  The sessions will run on a weekly basis unless otherwise advertised until selections for the ITF World Championships in Jesolo, Italy, May 2015.

Those who wish to try out for the team selection should attend these weekly sessions.

International Instructors Course, Aberdeen, Scotland. March 13th – 15th 2015

RE: 100th INTERNATIONAL INSTRUCTORS’ – COURSE MARCH 13 – 15 2015 – ABERDEEN SCOTLAND 

On behalf of our Grand Master, Masters and Instructors of the International Taekwon-Do Federation – (Scotland) we are truly honoured to invite you to the 100th International Instructors Course (IIC), to be held in Aberdeen, Scotland, on March 13-15 2015, where the IIC Organising Committee for Scotland eagerly awaits to welcome the ITF Technical Committee of Grand Master Marano IX, Grand Master Bos IX and Grand Master Lan IX to the “Granite City” in North East of Scotland and also ITF Kids Programme Chair; Master Donato Nardizzi VIII. We also will be very privileged to host Master Clint Norman VIII, President of ITF Canada, who will be assisting the Grand Masters on the Course.

This is a momentous occasion for the ITF and for the ITF Technical Committee to have reached the milestone of 100 IIC’s, is truly a remarkable achievement for our ITF and its’ pursuit of excellence. As such we are thrilled that our President Grand Master Tratjenberg will also be in attendance along with the ITF Board of Directors.

It is also a momentous occasion for my hometown of Aberdeen, situated in the North East of Scotland, to have this milestone of excellence and we are truly humbled by the honour and we extend our welcome to our Taekwon-Do family here in Scotland and around the World to this 100th International Instructor Course.

Aberdeen’s official toast is:

“Happy to meet, sorry to part, happy to meet again – Bon Accord!” 

is very synonymous with our friendship within the ITF and its many events when we all come together, but this time it is very special to us as we are your hosts for this very special weekend and we hope you can make the journey to this lovely part of Scotland.
